Dopóki nie wygrzebią gdzieś innego dla mnie będzie to punkt odniesienia.
Jaho63 napisał(a):Już kiedyś Gienek wyjaśniał ten "różowy" dźwigar. Jednak zawsze mnie zastanawiała technologia. Bo o ile wnęki były w kolorze fabrycznym, to malowany przed montażem na Salmon dźwigar wydaje się OK. Jednak kiedy wnęki zostały pociągnięte kolorem kamuflażu, to ten dźwigar też powinien...

For the modellers - Salmon was painted everywhere - engine mounts, coolers, panels, pipes.
The cockpit was dark green - not black.
Interior was a peach/orange? Would like to know what colour is this?
Outer wings were canvas covered (did not know this)
Ailerons were wood ribbed, plywood covered and fabric doped.(did not know this)
All 6 0.5" guns and ammunition feeds were onboard.
All panels were painted with the BuNo.
Data plate in cockpit was beautiful - Vought Sikorsky.
Oxygen bottle was still pressurised - when released everyone was happier!
Gun sight intact. Magnesium instrument panel disolved but instruments there.
Side number F-21 clear.
Blue field and white star to both wings, upper and lower. Lower outer wings were blue, not white.
'Birdcage canopy' did have a upper bulge at the front - not sure if I have seen this before on photos? Also canopy closed perspex to perspex at the rear - never seen this before (no frame at the rear portion). Anyone got a good photo of a birgcage corsair canopy or is this a later mod? (did not know this)
BuNo on the fin and NAVY
Besides the fuselage break the Corsair is in beautiful condition. Can see no reason for all undamaged skins to be retained.
Prop turned over 30deg and was unbent. Engine is also in remerkable condition as is propellor hub. Reduction gear dissolved and delamination in parts to aluminium props.
Fuselage fuel tank skins were all taped in white dope tape (as the pacific photos/models show).
